2026 NCBBA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY

  April 10th – 12th, 2026

The National Club Basketball Association is excited to announce the 2026 National Club Basketball Men’s National Championship tournament will be headed back to the Keystone State and to the newly renovated Highmark Events Center in Erie, Pennsylvania for the fifth straight season.  Eight NCBBA-Men’s teams will advance to the National Championship tournament, which is set to take place Friday, April 10th through Sunday, April 12th. The event will be a single elimination, three-day tournament that will ultimately determine the 2026 National Champion.  On Saturday (April 11th) we will be hosting the 10th annual NCBBA Skills Competition.

Airport
If your trip to the NCBBA National Championship requires you to fly, Erie International Airport (ERI) is just 15 minutes from Highmark Event Center.  Visit ErieAirport.org for more details.  Alternate options are Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) and Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) both of which are around a 2 hour drive to Erie.

 

Lodging
The NCBBA has partnered with the Erie Sports Commission to provide discounted host hotel options for the teams and fans alike.  The NCBBA-M is thrilled to announce they have partnered with the Wingate by Wyndham and Hampton Inn to serve as the official host hotels for the 2026 NCBBA-M National Championship Tournament.  All qualifying  teams will be REQUIRED to stay at one of the host hotel properties.

Tickets
All fans interested in attending the 2026 NCBBA National Championship will need to purchase online tickets prior to arrival.  No worries, we still offer day passes and full tournament passes through the online ticketing platform.  Should you arrive at the entry gate without an online ticket, you will be directed to this very online ticketing platform as there will be no on site ticket sales.  These new procedures should help with expediting entry into the complex for all spectators.

Skills/All Star Competition

On Saturday April 11th, beginning at 9am EST, the NCBBA will be hosting the 10th annual NCBBA Skills Competition.  Contestants from around the NCBBA will be competing in events such as a Three Point Competition, the NCBBA Obstacle Course, and a Slam Dunk Competition.

THE BRUINS GO BACK-TO-BACK AND ARE #1 IN THE COUNTRY

The 2026 National Champion UCLA Bruins are #1 in the 25-26 NCBBA-M Tytan Athletics Final Top 20 Poll. UCLA received all 8 First Place votes. They go back-to-back.

The runner ups, James Madison, move to #2, Florida-Blue to #3, Boston College finishes at #4, and Ohio State at #5 to round out the top-5 respectively.

The rest of the Top 20 remained very similar with only a few small changes.

Stay tuned… All Region and then All American teams will be released in May. While the next Top 20 poll will be the 26-27 Preseason Poll.

BRUINS WIN 3RD TITLE IN 4 SEASONS; GARNETT 3X MVP

The #7 UCLA Bruins go back-to-back and are your 2026 National Champions! They win their 3rd title in 4 years. Bruins defeat James Madison in the fourth straight National Championship matchup by a score of 70-44. They now hold a 3-1 record against James Madison in National Championship games. Crazy to think these teams have met 4 times now in the big game. Garnett earns his 3rd MVP as he averaged 24ppg, 75% shooting, 17rpg, 2asts,  and 3blks.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IS SET!

In game 5 of the tournament, #7 UCLA defeats #3 Boston College by a score of 91-78. UCLA now enters their 4th straight National Championship game appearance in their 4 seasons as a member of the NCBBA. They won the National Championship their very first season (2023) by defeating James Madison. Two seasons ago (2024), the season after they won it all, they lost to James Madison in the Title game. UCLA got their revenge and beat James Madison in 2025 National Championship game. Earning their 2nd title in program history.

In game 6 of the tournament, #1 James Madison takes down #5 Florida by a score of 62-60. James Madison finished the regular season as the Mid-Atlantic South Conference Champions. Won the Mid-Atlantic Regional to earn their spot back in the National Championship Tournament. James Madison returns to the Championship game for a third straight season.

The stage set for the fourth straight showdown between UCLA and James Madison. Will UCLA go back-to-back or will James Madison get their revenge and win their 2nd title?!

DAY 1 HAS CONCLUDED; FINAL 4 IS SET

In game 1, #5 Florida defeats #4 Syracuse by a score of 72-64.

In game 2, #3 Boston College takes down a tough #6 Cal state Northridge by a score of 85-74.

In game 3, #7 UCLA, the 2025 defending National Champions take down #2 Ohio State by a score of 65-54

In game 4 #1 James Madison defeats a tough #8 Boston University by a score of 62-57.

#1 James Madison will take on #5 Florida at 7:30pm tonight and #3 Boston College will match up against the defending champs in #7 UCLA at 2:30pm.

THE BUCKEYES ARE THE NEW #1 IN THE COUNTRY

Ohio State takes over at #1 in the 25-26 NCBBA-M Tytan Athletics Week 23 Top 20 Poll. They received 6 First Place votes. James Madison received 2 first place votes.

James Madison moves to #2, Boston College to #3, Syracuse to #4, and Florida-Blue to #5 to round out the top-5 respectively. 26 teams received votes after Week 22 and Regionals have concluded.

Stay tuned… The final poll for the 25-26 season will be released on April 16th. This comes after the National Championship Tournament has concluded.

Congratulations to UCLA and Boston University on earning at-large bids to the 2026 NCBBA-M National Championship Tournament.  They will join…

The field is set and the Official 2026 NCBBA-M National Championship Tournament Bracket will be released tomorrow.

6 TICKETS ARE PUNCHED; 2 AT-LARGE BIDS WILL BE SELECTED TODAY

Congratulations to Syracuse for defeating Adelphi to win the North Atlantic Region. James Madison, the 2024 defending National Champions, will make their return to Erie. They took down Maryland to win the Mid-Atlantic Regional. The number two team in the country, Ohio State, takes down Michigan to win the Great Lakes Regional. Florida will make their first National Championship appearance after they defeated Florida State to win the South Atlantic Regional. Finally, Boston College returns to the National Championship after they took down Boston University to win the New England Regional.
