PHENOM ELITE FINAL NCBBA-M TOP 20

No surprise here…Purdue finishes as the unanimous #1 team in the country after winning the 2022 NCBBA-M National Championship!  The runner up in the National Championship, Notre Dame, also happens to finish as the #2 team in the country jumping from #6 in the previous poll.  Bryant University closes out the Top 3 after an incredible performance at the National Championship.

No newcomers to the Phenom Elite NCBBA-M Final Top 20, just some shuffling.  Check out where your favorite team landed.

BOILERMAKERS WIN NATTY; HALBLEIB MVP

The #1 seeded Purdue Boilermakers are your 2022 NCBBA-M National Champions after defeating Notre Dame 53-48 in the Natonal Championshp Game.  The Boilermakers were lead by Emerson Halbleib who averaged a double double throughout he course of the tournament.  He averaged 19.7 PPG, 13.3 RPG and 1.7 APG which earned him him MVP honors.

2022-2023 NCBBA-M LPA

Click HERE to download the 2022-2023 NCBBA-Men’s League Participation Agreement.  If you are renewing your membership with the NCBBA for the 22-23 season, this needs signed by both the Team Representative (e.g. Team President) as well as a Faculty Representative (e.g. Club Sports Director) to secure your spot in the NCBBA-M for the 2022-2023 season.  This is due no later than June 1st, 2022, so don’t delay.  It is much easier getting the required signatures before you leave campus for the summer.

PHENOM ELITE WEEK 23 NCBBA-M TOP 20

A new King of the Hill in Men’s Club Basketball!  The Boilermakers from Purdue University overtake Boston College to become the new #1 team in the land heading into the National Championship Tournament at the Highmark Events Center in Erie, PA on the campus of Gannon University.

Purdue claims the #1 spot after winning the Great Lakes Regional Tournament, defeating #6 Notre Dame 78-70.  Purdue will also enter the National Championship Tournament as the top overall seed.

After winning their respective Regional Tournaments, Penn State, Towson and ECU move  into the top-5 while Bryant University moves from the unranked, all the way to #6!

Congratulations to Boston College, Notre Dame and Radford on earning at-large bids to the 2022 NCBBA-M National Championship Tournament.  They will join…

  • Towson University (Mid-Atlantic Region Champions)
  • East Carolina University (South Atlantic Region Champions)
  • Purdue University (Great Lakes Region Champions)
  • Penn State University (North Atlantic Region Champions)
  • Bryant University (New England Region Champions)

The field is set and the Official 2022 NCBBA-M National Championship Tournament Bracket will be released tomorrow.

 

5 TICKETS PUNCHED; 3 AT-LARGE TO GO

Penn State University, Bryant University and Purdue University join East Carolina and Towson as the 5 automatic qualifiers to the NCBBA-M National Championship Tournament after winning their respective regional.

#1 seeded Penn State defeated #6 Syracuse 75-65 to claim the North Atlantic Regional Championship.  Surprise #7 seeded Bryant shocks the world defeating #1 seeded Boston College in an absolute thriller 84-82 to win the New England Regional Championship and in the #1 vs #2 matchup, top seeded Purdue comes out victorious over Notre Dame winning the Great Lakes Regional Championship 78-70.

The final 3 spots will be selected via At-Large Bids.  Those selections will be made later this evening, so be sure to look out!

2 TEAMS IN; REGIONAL BRACKETS UPDATED

East Carolina and Towson are the first two to punch their ticket to the 2022 Men’s National Championship Tournament.  Three more Regional Tournament Champion auto-qualifiers will be determined tomorrow along with three at-large bids to round out the field of 8 teams.

East Carolina defeated Florida State in the opening round game, 91-78 then defeated conference rival UNCW 63-57 to claim the South Atlantic Regional Championship.  Towson defeated Virginia then top-seeded Radford 75-66 and 98-89 respectively to claim the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship.

The Great Lakes Regional Championship Game between #1 Purdue and #2 Notre Dame will tip off at 1:00pm CST.  The North Atlantic Regional Championship will feature #1 Penn State taking on #6 Syracuse.  That tip off will be at 10am EST.  Finally, the New England Regional Championship will tip off at 10am EST and features #1 Boston College and #7 Bryant.  The 3 Regional winners will automatically qualify for the 2022 NCBBA-M National Championship.

For the 5th straight time, Boston College locks down the top spot in the Phenom Elite Week 22 NCBBA-M Top 20 after receiving 9 first-place votes and 236 out of the possible 240 points.
