The Hokies fall short against Iowa State

Despite Jake Ryan putting 20 points on the board, the Hokies lost to the Iowa State Cyclones 78-61.

Racking up 21 fouls in total, the Hokies played a physical game.

Ryan was on the ball for the Hokies, making 58% (7-for-12) of shots attempted and hitting 100% (5-for-5) of free throws attempted.

Jack Beckman hit double digits, scoring 18 points for the Hokies (7-for-13). Also chipping in for the Hokies were Josh Knight (7 points, 4 rebounds), Kevin Moreland (7 points, 1 rebound), Wes Justis (5 points, 4 rebounds), Cody Dowd (2 points, 5 rebounds) and Chris Perreault (2 points, 3 rebounds).

The Hokies finished the game with 41 rebounds (18 offensive/23 defensive).      

The ECU Pirates Defeat the Lewis Flyers

Joe Bryant scored 25 points to lead the Pirates to a 98-67 victory over the Lewis Flyers on Friday.

With a 37-29 lead at the half, the Pirates pulled ahead early in the game.

Great play from the field made Bryant stand out, as he made 60% (9-for-15) of shots attempted as well as 64% (7-for-11) of threes attempted.

Two other players also added ten or more points for the Pirates. DeAngelo Hopkins scored 20 points and Torez Fisher had 13 points. Tyler Nicholson (18 points) and Jeremy Brown-Parker (12) each contributed multiple three-pointers. Also contributing for the Pirates were Antione Simon (8 points, 6 rebounds) and Wayne McDonald (2 points, 4 rebounds). Hopkins was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up seven rebounds and one block.

The Pirates finished the game with 48 rebounds (12 offensive/36 defensive) and one block.

Iowa State has clinched the Mid America West Conference Title and will now move on to the National Championship Tournament.

With a 3 game sweep of Kennesaw State, ECU has clinched the SAC South Title and is now headed to Pittsburgh to chase the National Championship Crown.

The Wildcats of Kentucky have clinched the Great Lakes – West Conference Title and will now take their show on the road to Pittsburgh to battle for the coveted NCBBA Championship.

Can They Repeat?

Virginia Tech has officially clinched the Mid-Atlantic North Conference Title and will now have a shot to defend their title at the 2015 NCBBA National Championship!
