ALEC VERHOFF NAMED DIRECTOR OF BASKETBALL TEAM DEVELOPMENT

The NCBBA is excited to announce that Alec Verhoff has been named the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations and Director of Basketball Team Development for both the NCBBA-M and NCBBA-W leagues, effective immediately.

Alec previously worked with the NCBBA in 2019 & 2020 and played a crucial role with team recruitment & development.   Alec was able to help get the NCBBA-W league off and running prior to the pandemic, where he did a fantastic job working with all of the NCBBA teams and we believe he will continue to grow and enhance the overall NCBBA experience. We couldn’t be more excited for you all to work with him.  Alec has been a tremendous asset from day one and we couldn’t be happier to have him take on the challenge of running NCBBA-W Basketball Operations and Basketball Team Development for both leagues.  All of you will be in very good hands!

Alec was born and raised in Jefferson City, Missouri.  He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Sport Management. While attending Central Missouri, Alec participated in Club Baseball for four years becoming the President of the team his senior year.

To reach Alec, you can email him at [email protected].

NCBBA-M CANCELS SPRING 2021 SEASON

The NCBBA-M has officially cancelled the spring 2021 season.  The league appreciates the patience of its member teams as it worked through this process of trying to host a spring 2021 men’s basketball season.  Unfortunately, there are only 6 teams in the NCBBA-M league that have reported that they are allowed to compete this spring.  Thus, given these numbers it was determined to be impossible for the NCBBA-M to successfully host a spring 2021 men’s basketball season.  Additionally, at this point on the calendar, waiting any longer for more teams to get cleared to compete will not leave sufficient time for the league to release a schedule and complete a full regular season during this semester.

The NCBBA-M will be shifting its focus towards a reboot for the 2021-2022 school year.  League Representatives will be in touch in early March with steps towards planning for next season including registering your team, updating team contacts, and assigning a date for the annual NCBBA-M online league meeting.  In the meantime we encourage any teams that are allowed to compete this spring to schedule exhibition games amongst each other as they see fit.  Should your team need contact information for any of the teams allowed to play, please reach out to NCBBA-M League Representatives.

Lastly, the NCBBA-M league is considering hosting an end of the year invitational tournament for teams that are eligible to compete.  This event would most likely take place on April 16-18.  Should your team be cleared to compete by April 1st and be interested in participating, please email VP of Men’s Basketball Operations, Christian Smith at [email protected].
