ECU wins NCBBA National Championship over Kentucky
DeAngelo Hopkins‘s 25 points propelled the Pirates to an 87-74 victory over Kentucky on Sunday.
The Pirates connected from the field early, claiming a 36-34 lead at the half.
Hopkins found success all over the court for the Pirates, making 59% (10-for-17) of shots attempted while also sinking 83% (5-for-6) of free throws attempted.
Tyler Nicholson went into double digits, scoring 21 points for the Pirates (8-for-17). Joe Bryant (8 points) and Jeremy Brown-Parker (8) each sunk multiple three-pointers. Also chipping in for the Pirates were Antione Simon (9 points, 1 rebound), Wayne McDonald (9 points, 7 rebounds) and Torez Fisher (7 points, 3 rebounds).
The Pirates finished the game with 37 rebounds (10 offensive/27 defensive).
