Tyler was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. While attending Thunderbird High School, he was a three-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball, and track and field. Tyler earned letters in all three sports, and was a captain of both the varsity basketball and track and field programs. After graduating, Tyler attended Grand Canyon University, where he became the inaugural GCU Club President from 2016-2018, and was a member of the Club Sports Leadership Program from 2017-2018. He played both intramural and club sports while attending GCU, and played for the GCU all-star flag football team in 2015 and 2016. Tyler graduated from GCU in April, 2018, with a Bachelor's of Science in Sports Management. He also is a head junior varsity boy's basketball coach at Thunderbird High School, assistant varsity boy's basketball coach, and track and field coach.
